What’s on My Fall Wish List?

Dear Friends,

I can’t believe October is halfway over! I could go back over all the busyness in my life lately, but I already did that in my last post so I will just say this — it’s my favorite month of the year and I feel like I’ve been missing it because I haven’t had the chance to slow down and enjoy it.

This week, I’ve found a bit more free time. I was off on Monday for Columbus Day, so I got my garden all broken down and my pots put away for winter. I cleaned out my carport, put my gazebo in basement storage, and spruced up my patio. I also polished my wood furniture and floors and got some cooking and baking done. I even made a quick trip to Dollar Tree to pick up a couple of new Fall candles for the holders in my living room. The boys were at school and Michael was at work, so I got to have the day to myself and I loved it!

I also started editing photos from the wedding on Monday, and although I still haven’t quite made it through them all, we have some pretty great pictures (many of which Logan actually took, and now wants his own camera!):

I started looking into things to do and discovered that Jaws was playing at the theater! Hunter isn’t big on scary movies, but Logan loves Jaws so he and I had a mother/son date that night at the theater!

Tuesday evening I made a delicious Thai curry dish with lots of bell peppers, shrimp, basil and coconut milk. Then Michael and I sat on my patio and lit the fire pit. You guys — this fire pit has been sitting in my carport since May with wood in it ready to burn. Five months! And we finally took the time to enjoy sitting by the fire. Michael and I are in total agreement that this is our favorite time of year, and I’m making it my personal goal to make sure we’re enjoying it over the coming weeks.

I am sticking to our goal to enter this weekend with no plans, but there are a few things I really want to do between now and Thanksgiving. Will some of it happen this weekend? I don’t know…we will see how we feel come Saturday!

My Fall Wish List:

Halloween Movie Marathon

Winery or Brewery Trip

Visit an Orchard

Go to a Pumpkin Patch

Get a Projector for Outdoor Movies

Set Up My Family Room for Indoor Movies

Organize the Next Friend Dinner

Plan a Christmas Cookie Swap

It’s not a huge list and I think most of it is doable. It is supposed to be beautiful on Saturday, so Michael and I might just manage to hit a thing or two on the list. I’m really excited to have an entire day to just do things on a whim and go where life takes us!

With that said, I’m happy to share that I have a Mediterranean Monday post in the works! I apologize for not getting one up the first Monday of the month, but I am on schedule to have the third Monday covered! I currently have some garlic and sage chicken thighs in the oven right this very minute, and those will be the feature for Mediterranean Monday.

And so I bid you adieu for the next few days! I wish all of you a wonderful Fall weekend and hope you live it to the fullest. I will see you back here on Monday with some delicious food!
